Welcome to the Tommy’s War official website.
With the 100 year anniversary of the First World War upon us I really wanted to create a fitting memorial to all those who served through 1914-18.
Inspired by the book ‘We Meet at Dawn’ the memoirs of Captain Hamilton, I was struck by the unofficial truce of December 1914. So, our release for September 2014 shows a meeting in no mans land between a British and German soldier. I think Nino Pizzichemi has captured the moment beautifully and the scene is poignant and moving.
I’m also delighted to welcome a new sculptor to the Tommy’s War team with our new brand Victoria’s Heroes. These figures by Helder Agostinho will focus on the British army of the 19th Century, and release VH54002 is the first in our range showing an Officer of the 42nd Highlander. With a further sculpt in production and a third in hand I’m sure this will be a popular range.
Over the coming weekend (20th and 21st September) we will be at Euro Militaire in Folkestone, UK. So, if you’re visiting the show please do come and say hello.
